I always like to say, and I say it without any arrogance, the smarter and wiser you are, the luckier you get. One way to live smarter and wiser and to create collaborative fellowship is to apply elements of gamer-thinking to how we make daily choices. When used effectively gamer psychology and gamer thinking can create peace where there were conflict and harmony where there was agitation.

I believe, that excluding things like prayer, meditation, romantic love, art, culture, and the nature of spirituality, everything we experience in life can be framed as a sort of game. What games all have in common is rules of engagement, scoring, other players, systems for enforcing the rules, and penalties for violating the rules. Anyone who has played board or video games understands this.

Creating fellowship requires intention. It would be great if things just fell into place by themselves. Unfortunately, there are some problems that can’t and won’t easily be solved with a smile and a happy disposition.

In life, we must deal with incompetence, corruption, ignorance, and other undesirable human traits. To make the world a better place, we must have the ability to strategize over, under, around, and through challenges, obstacles, and extreme problems. For many thought leaders, game theory is the most effective, efficient, accurate, precise, productive, and self-aware way to achieve this end. This is because game theory and gamification models are an accurate reflection of how nature unfolds.
